A winter storm has wreaked havoc across the US, killing several people and placing more than 200 million under severe cold alerts.

A number of states recorded more than 20 inches (50.8 cm) of snow this weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

The storm has left more than 200,000 people without power in Tennessee, and forecasters warn another “significant winter storm” could hit the eastern US again this weekend.
