The United States has issued a warning following last Sunday’s deadly attack on the Angwan Rukuba community in Plateau state, where suspected gunmen killed at least 28 people.

Reacting, US Congressman Rep. Riley Moore, in a social media post on Wednesday, April 1, called for urgent action.
“These were brazen attacks by Islamic radical terrorists,” Moore said in his X post.
“The persecution and slaughter of our brothers and sisters in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ must end NOW.”
Speaking on NEWSMAX, Moore said he had witnessed the situation firsthand during a visit to Nigeria.
“I saw with my own eyes the tragedy and horror that is unfolding there. Unfortunately, we had 40 individuals killed during a Palm Sunday service, and another 13 Christians were killed in separate attacks by Islamic radical militants,” he said.
Moore further warned that the United States may intervene if the Nigerian government does not act decisively.
“President Trump has been very clear on this: if they don’t address it, we are going to address it for them. If they don’t step up, we will have to take the lead on this,” he said.
The congressman, who noted that the US military personnel are already in Nigeria training with the Nigerian armed forces to address capability gaps, added that progress has been too slow.
“Currently, we have 200 military individuals from our armed forces there, training and working with the Nigerian military to address capability gaps,” Moore said.
“Nigerian government have been trying to make some steps on this but they are not doing that fast enough.”
