A former Chief Security Officer (CSO) of the Khana Local Government Area, Rivers State, Letam Kinee, has been shot dead by yet-to-be-identified gunmen in Bori, the headquarters of the council.

Tribune gathered that the assailants ambushed Kinee, intercepted him and shot him several times before fleeing the scene under circumstances that remain unclear.

The killing has heightened security concerns in the area, with residents calling on security agencies to intensify efforts to arrest the perpetrators and bring them to justice.

Although detectives attached to the Bori Area Command and the Bori Police Division have reportedly been notified of the incident, the Rivers State Police Command had yet to issue an official statement as of the time of filing this report.
